Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery
The Department of Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery currently has 4 chief physicians, 1 associate chief physician, 6 attending physicians, 2 physicians with doctoral degrees, 6 with master’s degrees, 6 master’s graduate students, 1 doctoral student, 3 extracorporeal perfusionists, and 32 nurses. It has reached an advanced level within the province in coronary artery bypass grafting, great-vessel surgery, minimally invasive treatment of congenital heart disease, mitral valvuloplasty, and other areas. For simple congenital heart diseases such as atrial septal defect, patent foramen ovale, ventricular septal defect, and patent ductus arteriosus, in addition to conventional open-chest surgery, minimally invasive transthoracic occlusion can be performed; in particular, atrial septal defects can be treated by trans-femoral venous occlusion. It performs surgical treatment for patients with low body weight and complex congenital heart disease; the lowest body weight was 1.2 kg. At the same time, it cooperates with the Chinese Red Cross Foundation in carrying out the “Congenital Heart Disease Assistance Project of the Central Special Lottery Public Welfare Fund,” providing free treatment for children with congenital heart disease. It was among the earlier institutions in the province to independently complete percutaneous aortic valve replacement. In addition to conventional bypass surgery, it performs coronary hybrid procedures, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting through a small incision, and total arterial coronary artery bypass grafting. In addition, for myocardial infarction complications such as ventricular septal perforation, ventricular wall aneurysm formation, and chordae tendineae rupture, it performs emergency bypass surgery, ventricular septal perforation repair, ventricular wall aneurysm resection and left ventricular reconstruction, artificial chordae implantation, valvuloplasty, and other procedures. Furthermore, for aneurysms in different locations, it routinely performs Bentall, Cabrol, and David procedures, as well as thoracoabdominal aortic replacement. For aortic stenotic diseases, it performs vascular replacement, prosthetic vascular bypass, and interventional procedures. For patients with lower-extremity venous thromboembolism, it performs inferior vena cava filter implantation; for those with peripheral arterial stenosis or occlusion, it performs arterial stenting and angioplasty, as well as vascular bypass. It also performs radiofrequency ablation for idiopathic atrial fibrillation, open surgical embolectomy for pulmonary embolism, surgery to relieve left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, cardiac tumor surgery, cardiac trauma surgery, and other procedures.
