Anaesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology was established in 2004. It is a clinical department integrating medical care, teaching, and research. It is a doctoral and master’s degree-granting unit of Harbin Medical University and a mobile postdoctoral research station in anesthesiology. It is a key discipline of the hospital. It is a national key specialty base for standardized resident physician training. The Department of Anesthesiology comprises clinical anesthesia, pain diagnosis and treatment, the post-anesthesia care unit, and the anesthesia outpatient clinic. The department currently has 61 staff members at all levels, including 49 physicians and 12 nurses. It has 6 staff members with senior professional titles, 12 with associate senior professional titles, 3 doctoral student supervisors, and 6 master’s student supervisors. Its medical services cover clinical anesthesia, the treatment of critically ill patients, comfort-oriented medical care, and the treatment of acute and chronic pain, among other areas. The annual average number of anesthesia cases is more than thirty-five thousand. The Anesthesiology Teaching and Research Section undertakes multitrack teaching tasks for undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, and standardized resident physician training, has twice been named by Harbin Medical University as one of the “Top Ten Units for Teacher Ethics Development,” has received the title of “Advanced Standardized Residency Training Base” for many consecutive years, and from 2004 to the present has received more than 30 awards, including “Excellent Teacher” and “Top Ten Mentor,” while also leading 5 provincial-level teaching projects and participating in compiling nearly 20 textbooks and monographs. The Department of Anesthesiology has received 20 provincial- and ministerial-level awards, holds 15 invention and utility model patents, has 48 funded projects at various levels, and has received funding of more than 500 units of ten-thousand yuan, including 5 General Program grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 13 projects of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, 6 China Postdoctoral Science Foundation projects, and 6 Heilongjiang provincial postdoctoral projects. It has published more than 70 SCI papers in total. All colleagues in the Department of Anesthesiology will continue to uphold their original aspiration and forge ahead, continue to work tirelessly for the development of healthcare, and safeguard patient safety.
