Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine
Ward 5, Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion
2022.11
The Fifth Ward of the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at the South Campus of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine operates under a “one hospital, two campuses; one department, two wards; dual-core operation” model. The department has strong medical and technical capabilities and is responsible for the clinical diagnosis, treatment, prevention, health care, and health education of outpatients and inpatients in acupuncture and moxibustion and neurology, while also undertaking teaching responsibilities.
Our department achieves significant therapeutic effects in both the acute and recovery phases of stroke. Using an integrated acupuncture-and-medication approach, we help patients improve neurological deficit symptoms and protect neurological function. We are at the national forefront in the treatment of true and pseudobulbar palsy with neck acupuncture. As the leading institution of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinical Pathway Collaboration Group for Pseudobulbar Palsy of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Traditional Chinese Medicine clinical pathway for pseudobulbar palsy developed by our department is currently being promoted and used nationwide. Our department uses paravertebral electrical-field therapy to treat spinal cord diseases (myelitis, traumatic paraplegia, etc.); paravertebral electroacupuncture to treat cervical spondylosis and lumbar spondylosis; acupuncture and moxibustion to treat peripheral nerve diseases (such as ophthalmoplegia, facial paralysis, hemifacial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, and Guillain–Barré syndrome); electroacupuncture to treat urination disorders (neurogenic disorders, benign prostatic hyperplasia, etc.); and electroacupuncture at the neck to treat dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, insomnia, and hydrocephalus. These treatments also produce significant effects in certain difficult and complicated diseases, creating favorable social benefits.
