Under the premise of continuously inheriting the theories of classic medical texts, and supported by the theory that “when disease manifests externally, its root must lie internally,” the Department of Dermatology of the Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has gradually developed its own treatment characteristics by leveraging the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating the root cause and producing few side effects. Characterized by integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment, with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation as its core, the department highlights the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice. Taking eczema, herpes zoster, and psoriasis as the three key research directions of the specialty, it has developed distinctive, systematic, scientific, and standardized treatment methods. The department has a well-structured medical staff echelon, prominent traditional Chinese medicine characteristics, and strong technical capabilities. It has gradually developed into a comprehensive department integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research.
