Its personnel echelon structure is well balanced, with a young and vigorous team, a solid foundation in medical theory, extensive clinical experience, and strong technical capabilities. In recent years, based on the theories of traditional Chinese medicine and combined with our many years of clinical diagnostic and treatment experience, our department, under the leadership of Professor Jin Ze, the department director, has actively researched and developed a variety of characteristic traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods. Scalp acupuncture, body acupuncture, and simultaneous needling with two needles combined with “fire-needle” therapy are used to treat increased muscle tone after stroke; fire-needle therapy is used to treat anxiety, depressive states, cognitive dysfunction, herpes zoster, and various pain conditions. Water-needle therapy, namely acupoint injection, is used to treat cerebrovascular diseases and their sequelae, facial paralysis, neuritis, and other diseases; penetrating needling with a mang needle is used to treat tinnitus and deafness; lifting-and-pulling needling with a retained mang needle is used to treat intractable facial paralysis; a mang needle combined with acupuncture movement therapy is used to treat post-stroke movement disorders and urinary and fecal dysfunction. Mind-regulating and calming acupuncture is used to treat pediatric Tourette syndrome; acupuncture and blockade therapy of the sphenopalatine ganglion, stellate ganglion, and brachial plexus ganglia are used to treat intractable insomnia, allergic rhinitis, essential tremor, brachial plexus neuralgia, and other conditions; symmetrical balance acupuncture is used for post-stroke motor dysfunction and bulbar palsy. Movement moxibustion is used to treat myelitis and various pain conditions; eye acupuncture therapy for optic nerve and oculomotor nerve injuries and other conditions has achieved good results.
