The Department of Endocrinology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine is a key discipline of the Heilongjiang Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a key discipline of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. The Department of Endocrinology integrates medical care, teaching, and scientific research, highlights the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, and, based on treatment according to traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation, uses traditional Chinese medicine alone or integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat diabetes and its complications, thyroid diseases, hyperuricemia and gout, dyslipidemia, fatty liver, and other endocrine and metabolic diseases, with significant therapeutic effects. To meet patients’ treatment needs, the department is currently making every effort to establish a daytime ward for diabetic neuropathy.

The department currently has 7 physicians, including 1 chief physician, 2 associate chief physicians, 1 postdoctoral fellow, 3 doctors with doctoral degrees, 6 doctors with master’s degrees, 3 master’s supervisors, 1 renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner of Heilongjiang Province, and 1 young renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner of Heilongjiang Province.

In recent years, the department has led 4 national- and provincial/ministerial-level research projects, received 1 First Prize and 1 Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Provincial Government, published more than 10 academic books, and published more than 100 academic papers, including 3 indexed by SCI.
