It reports broad urological diagnostic and treatment experience and clinical research on kidney and bladder cancer, prostatic hyperplasia and renal cysts. Neurosurgery combines clinical care, teaching, research and prevention and is a key participant in the hospital stroke center. Its subspecialties cover cerebrovascular disease, head injury, nervous-system tumors, spine and spinal cord, and functional neurosurgery. Operations include removal of pituitary, acoustic nerve, complex skull-base, meningioma and glioma tumors; microscopic clipping or endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms, extracranial–intracranial bypass for moyamoya disease, and removal or embolization of intracranial arteriovenous malformations; emergency and surgical care for head injuries; removal of spinal canal tumors and surgery for herniated discs; and functional neurosurgery for trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and glossopharyngeal neuralgia. For ischemic cerebrovascular disease it performs intracranial arterial balloon dilation, stenting and thrombectomy, and pressure measurement and stenting for intracranial venous sinus stenosis. It emphasizes individualized care. The neurosurgical team includes one associate chief physician, one attending physician, three master's degree holders and specialist nurses. Equipment includes two imported operating microscopes, two surgical power systems, two MAYFIELD headrests and a Siemens DSA system. The hospital reports particular expertise in surgical, interventional and comprehensive treatment of cerebrovascular disease and research in infectious neurosurgery.
