The Department of Geriatric Medicine of Hangzhou Xixi Hospital is a department for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of geriatric diseases. Fully leveraging the hospital's multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment strengths, the department focuses on the treatment and research of geriatric diseases. Through standardized comprehensive geriatric assessment, early screening, and early diagnosis and treatment, it strengthens the management of geriatric syndromes and focuses on the physical and mental health of older adults. It provides multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with “multiple diseases in one patient,” and develops and implements an integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment plan for every older person, using traditional Chinese medicine when appropriate and Western medicine when appropriate. The department integrates medical care with elderly care, cooperates with community elderly-care institutions throughout the entire process, and promotes the concept of health throughout the life cycle, thereby improving older adults’ health and quality of life.
