Endocrinology
The Department of Endocrinology of Hangzhou Xixi Hospital was established in 2012 and currently has 3 subspecialties: the Endocrine and Metabolic Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Subspecialty, the Fatty Liver Disease–Obesity Diagnosis and Treatment Subspecialty, and the Liver–Diabetes Co-management Diagnosis and Treatment Subspecialty. It currently serves as the National Standardized Fatty Liver Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center and Zhejiang Province’s first Digital Diabetes–Liver Disease Co-management Center (CDL). In accordance with standardized requirements and by integrating the hospital’s areas of disciplinary strength, the department has established one of the earlier multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnosis and treatment models in Zhejiang Province for the comprehensive management of fatty liver disease–obesity–diabetes, bringing together endocrinology, hepatology, nutrition, cardiology, respiratory medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, nursing, psychology, and other disciplines for the comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with fatty liver disease–obesity–diabetes. Guided by the principle of “standardized diagnosis and treatment, individualized plans, and humanized services,” the department follows the 5R principles (responsibility, assessment, reality, relief, and follow-up), and has established a coordinated management process covering outpatient care, hospitalization, post-discharge follow-up, and the internet hospital. It strengthens lifestyle interventions based on nutrition, exercise, psychology, sleep, behavior, and other factors, combined with various integrated traditional Chinese and Western medical treatments, including Chinese herbal medicines and Western medicines, to tailor individualized treatment plans for patients, such as fat reduction, weight loss, and blood glucose reduction. Among these, multiple nutrition and exercise intervention methods, fatty liver disease reversal technology, and type 2 diabetes remission technology help patients with fatty liver disease–obesity–diabetes obtain safe, effective, and economical treatment plans.
