Vascular Surgery
The Department of Vascular Surgery was established in 2010 and diagnoses and treats common, critical and complex vascular diseases. It has 12 specialist physicians and 21 approved beds; its physicians include two chief physicians, four associate chief physicians and three attending physicians. Equipment includes a Siemens hybrid operating room, an AnjioJet thrombectomy device, a semiconductor laser, a limb Doppler blood-flow detector, a radiofrequency ablation device and color Doppler ultrasound.
The department averages more than 1,200 operations annually. It specializes in individualized endovascular treatment of lower-limb arterial occlusive disease and aneurysms and minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. New procedures include percutaneous transhepatic mechanical thrombectomy of the portal and superior mesenteric veins, percutaneous mechanical pulmonary artery thrombectomy and lymphaticovenous anastomosis. The hospital describes these approaches as advanced in their fields.
The department leads or participates in multicenter prospective clinical research and collaborates with domestic and international medical institutions and centers. Its clinical and research team works on basic research and clinical translation for complex and rare vascular diseases, aiming for professional, standardized, detailed and patient-centered care. In line with the health authority’s and hospital’s plans, its vascular services across campuses seek consistent quality, serving Hangzhou and surrounding areas while developing a recognized regional center.
