Radiation Oncology

The Department of Oncology Radiotherapy is a Class I key medical discipline in Hangzhou, with Professor Ma Shenglin and Professor Wu Shixiu as its academic leaders. It has a strong technical team and advanced, comprehensive radiotherapy equipment, and treats more than 1,000 new patients annually. It is one of the departments in Zhejiang Province with the most comprehensive range of radiotherapy programs and the most complete functional application of equipment. The department is one of the leading disciplines of the Institute of Lung Cancer, Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Hangzhou Quality Control Center for Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment. It undertakes research for multiple national- and provincial-/ministerial-level key scientific research projects, has organized multiple provincial continuing education courses, and has repeatedly sent representatives to participate in and speak at international oncology conferences. The department also undertakes the training of doctoral and master's students in oncology at Wenzhou Medical University. The department is the chairing institution of the Asian Council of Hyperthermia, the chairing institution of the Hyperthermia Group of the Radiotherapy Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and the chairing institution of the Oncology Branch of the Zhejiang Medical Association.
