Otolaryngology
Guangzhou United Family ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat; Otolaryngology) provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for ear, nose, and throat diseases. Our professional medical staff have extensive experience in treating ear, nose, and throat diseases in both children and adults. Since the establishment of the ENT Department, we have continuously provided patients with high-quality clinical services.
Common cases seen in our ENT outpatient department include adult otitis media, rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngolaryngitis, hearing loss, and adult snoring, as well as adenoid and tonsil diseases in children, pediatric snoring, pediatric hearing impairment assessment, pediatric sinusitis, pediatric allergic rhinitis, and otitis media with effusion. We also treat ENT trauma, bleeding, and other conditions.
The outpatient department can perform various ENT endoscopic examinations (including laryngoscopy, rhinoscopy, and otoscopy for adults, as well as laryngoscopy, rhinoscopy, and otoscopy for children) and treatments under various types of endoscopy, including treatment of external auditory canal fungal infections, cerumen removal, treatment of otitis media, and removal of foreign bodies from various parts of the ear, nose, and throat.
The outpatient department can also perform various types of audiological examinations, including pure-tone audiometry, acoustic immittance, ABR, ASSR, and otoacoustic emissions. We can provide accurate and comprehensive audiological assessments for adults, children, and infants. For patients with hearing loss, we can provide individualized hearing-aid fitting based on their hearing levels and clinical information to compensate for hearing loss and help improve their hearing.
In addition, the ENT Department performs polysomnography. For adults or children with various sleep disorders or sleep-related snoring, sleep monitoring can determine whether sleep obstruction, sleep hypoxia, or other conditions are present. Combined with flexible laryngoscopy, it can help determine the cause and develop an individualized treatment plan.
The ENT Department can perform tonsil and adenoid surgery in children, surgery for otitis media in children, and surgery for otitis media and sinusitis in adults. We perform tympanoplasty for patients with tympanic membrane perforation, middle-ear tube placement for patients with otitis media with effusion, and minimally invasive surgical removal of enlarged adenoids and tonsils in children. Other procedures include excision of preauricular fistulas, correction of deviated nasal septum, maxillary sinus opening, and partial resection of the inferior turbinate.
