V. Introduction to Department Treatment Equipment
Alma Aton Photon Workstation: A new optical skin-rejuvenation technology. Our department has two treatment handpieces (APT 420 nm and DPL 500~600 nm) that can emit precisely targeted narrow-spectrum pulsed light in specific wavelength bands. APT 420 nm treats moderate-to-severe inflammatory acne by killing Cutibacterium acnes. DPL 500~600 nm simultaneously contains the absorption peaks of melanin and oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin, enabling effective treatment energy to be precisely concentrated and rapidly and efficiently resolving facial pigmentation and telangiectasia.
Scope of application: Superficial vascular problems (telangiectasia, diffuse flushing, superficial port-wine stains, acne erythema, rhinophyma, facial and neck follicular erythromelanosis, and so on): epidermal pigmentation problems (freckles, age spots, sun spots, freckle-like nevi, and so on); complexion problems (dull complexion); skin texture problems (enlarged pores, fine wrinkles); and so on.
CO2 Fractional Laser: CO2 fractional laser technology is currently a highly mature medical cosmetology technology in the global dermatology and plastic surgery fields and is a minimally invasive treatment between invasive and noninvasive procedures. Laser is emitted in a scanning fractional pattern to form a burn area on the epidermis composed of laser treatment points and intervals. Each laser spot consists of one or several high-energy laser pulses and can directly penetrate to the dermis, instantly vaporizing tissue at wrinkles or scars while stimulating collagen proliferation, thereby initiating a series of skin responses such as tissue repair and collagen remodeling. Under the action of the laser, collagen fibers contract by approximately one-third; fine wrinkles are flattened, deep wrinkles become shallower and finer, and the skin becomes firm and lustrous.
Scope of application: Removal of wrinkles (wrinkles on the hands, neck, and face, reduction of deeper forehead lines, stretch marks); removal of scars and acne, especially acne scars, traumatic scars, postoperative scars, and frostbite scars; improvement of melasma; treatment of superficial pigmented skin diseases such as freckles, café-au-lait spots, age spots, and other pigmented diseases; improvement of photoaged skin and enlarged pores; thickening of the dermis; and so on.
Gold Microneedles: An interventional fractional radiofrequency technology. It uses tiny gold-plated microneedles to precisely deliver radiofrequency energy to target tissues at different depths, fundamentally resolving problems associated with traditional laser and radiofrequency treatments, such as uncertain treatment depth, poor control of epidermal damage, and severe energy transmission attenuation, and avoiding the occurrence of adverse reactions such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Scope of application: Facial laxity; wrinkles (crow's feet, periorbital fine lines, nasolabial folds, perioral lines, neck lines, and so on); acne and atrophic scars; stretch marks; striae distensae; axillary odor; and so on.
Picosecond Laser (Q-switched Nd:YAG Treatment Device): It adopts internationally advanced electro-optical Q-switch technology, enabling laser energy to be released within an extremely short period, thereby forming giant pulses with extremely high peak power. After pigment particles instantaneously absorb the enormous laser energy, they rapidly expand and rupture, while the cellular framework can be completely preserved and repaired. The pigment particles are engulfed by macrophages and excreted from the body. In this way, the treatment objective for pigmented tissue can be achieved while causing almost no damage to normal tissue.
Scope of application: Pigmented skin diseases such as nevus of Ota, nevus fusco-caeruleus zygomaticus, freckles, solar lentigines, seborrheic keratosis, tattoos, and freckle-like nevi, as well as photoaging.
1927 nm Thulium Laser: It uses the latest 1927 nm wavelength thulium laser. After acting on the skin, it is absorbed by water and consequently produces a photothermal effect, enabling more effective treatment of epidermal pigmented lesions caused by photoaging and natural aging. At the same time, its micro-ablative skin-reconstruction technology can effectively treat skin problems. The photothermal effect reaching the dermis can promote collagen regeneration, thereby achieving three-dimensional skin reconstruction.
Scope of application: Freckles, melasma, age spots, acne pits and acne marks, enlarged pores, skin whitening and rejuvenation, facial fine lines (including around the eyes), and so on.
Unicorn Radiofrequency Heated Needle: A new technology that perfectly combines heated-needle and radiofrequency technologies. It has a precise treatment depth, no energy release, no scabbing, a short operating time, and only mild pain. It uses small gold microneedles with the needle body partially insulated to precisely deliver radiofrequency energy to the sebaceous glands, causing the sebaceous glands to atrophy and degenerate, thereby achieving the purpose of treating acne (comedones).
Scope of application: Acne (mild inflammatory type or comedones).
Intense Pulsed Photon Treatment Device: Intense pulsed light is a very gentle light source with good photothermal effects. Its full name is Intense Pulsed Light, abbreviated as IPL, and it is also called strong light. It can reach all layers of the skin, break down abnormal pigment, destroy hair follicle germinal cells, close abnormal blood vessels, simultaneously stimulate collagen proliferation, rearrange elastic fibers, and accelerate metabolic function, thereby achieving the effects of cleansing the skin, removing dark and red discoloration, removing spots, hair removal, removing acne, eliminating facial telangiectasia, and whitening and rejuvenating the skin.
Scope of application: Photoaging, hyperpigmentation, telangiectasia, acne marks, rosacea, and so on.
Ultraviolet Device (Half-Body and Full-Body): The treatment system uses narrow-spectrum UVB (porphyrin-free) phototherapy to treat skin diseases.
Scope of application: Skin diseases such as psoriasis, allergic dermatitis, vitiligo, pityriasis rosea, generalized eczema, lichen planus, and mycosis fungoides.
Red and Blue Light Treatment Device: It uses red and blue light of specific wavelengths to irradiate the skin. It can alter cell structures, kill bacteria, provide a suitable environment for new cells, enhance the generation of new collagen, elastin, and collagen, and promote cell growth; it can repair inflammatory acne and aging skin and relieve sunburned skin without damaging the skin. It can whiten the skin and promote skin elasticity.
Scope of application: Acne, rosacea, and acne marks
Soothing Expert: Light therapy is an effective method for regulating tissue repair and has a significant promoting effect on a faster and more organized repair process. Soothing Expert contains three modules. The yellow aurora module can eliminate skin inflammation and restore the skin barrier. The red aurora module can eliminate inflammation, promote healing, and increase macrophage activity—promoting the metabolism of inflammatory factors and promoting fibroblast proliferation—enhancing skin thickness. The sonic cleansing module can clear blocked pores and remove keratin; remove impurities, residual cosmetics, inflammatory factors, and so on from the skin; remove sebum and oil; and balance the water-oil balance.
Scope of application: Hydration for dry, peeling skin; rehabilitation treatment for sensitive skin; repair of cosmetic dermatitis; repair of steroid-dependent dermatitis; rosacea; melasma and hyperpigmentation; post-laser cosmetology hydration care; and so on.
ALA Photodynamic Therapy Device: This is the latest-generation photodynamic therapy equipment. It adopts a domestically pioneered adjustable-focus treatment head design. The core of the equipment comes from a semiconductor laser generator manufactured in Germany, with a precise optical transmission system, high coupling efficiency, and low transmission loss. Used in combination with a photosensitizer to treat diseases, it has the characteristics of minimal trauma, safety and high efficacy, and rapid recovery, bringing patients an entirely new project-based treatment plan.
Scope of application: Condyloma acuminatum, cervical HPV infection, flat warts, cutaneous basal cell carcinoma, Bowen disease, actinic keratosis, acne, and so on.
VI. Examination and Testing Equipment
Skin B-ultrasound: Ultrasound imaging technology has become an important diagnostic tool in many medical fields. With the development of the DUB ultrasound skin imaging device, high-frequency ultrasound imaging is now widely used in the field of dermatology. The DUB ultrasound skin imaging device has high-frequency and high-resolution characteristics.
Skin Physiological Index Testing System: A measurement system used in laboratories, mainly for high-resolution ultrasound skin images and the measurement of skin moisture, elasticity, sebaceous gland function, skin color, skin pH, skin temperature, transepidermal water loss, and fiber-optic dermoscopy, among others. It can conduct relatively comprehensive testing of skin barrier function and so on.
Dermoscope: Dermoscopy is mainly used for the differential diagnosis of pigmented skin diseases and skin tumors. Indications for dermoscopic diagnosis include, but are not limited to: malignant melanoma, dysplastic nevi, melanocytic nevi, subungual nevi, Spitz nevi, basal cell carcinoma, seborrheic keratosis, hemangioma, actinic keratosis, psoriasis, and so on. Dermoscopy also improves the sensitivity and specificity of disease diagnosis.
