Paediatric Clinic（天河院区）

The Department of Pediatrics is one of the main departments of Guangdong Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, with 61 professional and technical staff, of whom 4 serve as executive directors of provincial and municipal specialties and of the pediatric branch of the medical association, or as deputy heads of professional groups. The department is a training site for master's degree students of Guangzhou Medical College and has 1 master's supervisor. It currently has 15 senior physicians (5 at full senior level and 10 at associate senior level), 3 medical doctors and 22 medical masters. The Department of Pediatrics has nine major specialties, namely respiratory, asthma and allergy; neurological rehabilitation; pediatric emergency and critical care center; endocrinology; urology; digestive endoscopy; hematology and immunology; cardiology; and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine pediatrics, all of which have senior professional and technical staff as academic leaders of the specialty. It has advanced specialty assessment equipment: electronic bronchoscope, electronic gastroscope and enteroscope, cardiac color Doppler ultrasound B-mode scanner, 64-slice spiral CT machine, 16-lead multifunctional electroencephalograph, neurobehavioral developmental assessment and training equipment, etc.; it has well-established specialty diagnostic and treatment routines and whole-week professor and director ward rounds. The Department of Pediatrics currently has the Panyu campus, Yuexiu campus and Haizhu campus, with 150 beds open. In 2012 the outpatient volume reached 200,000 patient visits. Daily medical and clinical operations are supported and handled by an internationally advanced information system. The outpatient clinic operates a 24-hour opening system and provides director-level outpatient clinics at night, on weekends and on public holidays (the fee is the same as on weekdays), so that patients receive high-quality, all-round first-visit medical services. The Department of Pediatrics uses our hospital's critical illness transport network to accept and transport critically ill patients from across the province with 24-hour vehicle dispatch, with a resuscitation success rate of over 95%.
