Nutrition Clinic（清远院区）

The Department of Nutrition of Guangdong Provincial Women and Children’s Health Hospital is a medical and technical department integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research. It is a demonstration base for weight management through non-pharmacological interventions of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; a provincial-level base for the China Maternal and Child Health Association’s Internet+ project for the standardized development of perinatal nutrition outpatient clinics; and a project site for the National Science and Technology Fundamental Resources Survey Special Project—China Scientific Survey of the Nutrition and Health of Pregnant and Postpartum Women. The department currently has four doctors: one with a senior professional title, two with intermediate professional titles, and one with a junior professional title. All hold the Registered Dietitian qualification of the Chinese Nutrition Society. The scope of services of our hospital’s Department of Nutrition is as follows: 1. It operates a nutrition outpatient clinic, whose main services include nutritional treatment for common chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, chronic kidney disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc.); nutritional management during special physiological periods such as infancy and early childhood, adolescence, pregnancy and the postpartum period, and menopause; weight management for people with malnutrition, overweight, or obesity; and diagnostic and therapeutic services such as body composition analysis, anthropometric measurements, and comprehensive nutritional assessment. 2. It is responsible for nutrition consultations for inpatients, nutrition education, nutritional risk screening, and nutritional assessment; provides inpatients with individualized nutritional guidance plans; issues nutrition prescriptions and develops therapeutic diet menus, etc., to improve their nutritional status and promote recovery from illness; and provides dietary prescriptions and health education guidance after discharge. 3. It trains nutrition cafeteria staff, guides the preparation of therapeutic diets, and provides various therapeutic diets for all inpatients.
