Hemangioma Specialty Clinic(天河院区)
Infantile hemangiomas are congenital benign tumors originating from vascular endothelial cells. Infantile hemangiomas generally appear around 1 week after birth, with a male-to-female incidence ratio of approximately 1:3. Before 1 year of age, hemangiomas are in the proliferative phase; around 1 year of age, they gradually enter the involution phase, and most hemangiomas can regress completely. According to reports in the literature, the involution rate of hemangiomas is approximately 10% at 1 year of age, approximately 50% at 5 years of age, and can reach 70% at 7 years of age. The etiology and pathogenesis of hemangiomas are currently unclear, and they are currently considered mainly to be closely related to “angiogenesis” and “vasculogenesis,” with the latter considered in recent years to be the principal cause. Our hospital has a specialized hemangioma outpatient clinic, which is child-centered, comprehensively considers multiple aspects, including the child’s appearance, function, psychological development, and treatment risks, conducts comprehensive monitoring, and, using minimally invasive and noninvasive treatment, achieves optimal results with the most streamlined treatment.
