Pain Clinic

The Pain Clinic of Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, was established in 1997 and is one of the earlier departments in China to initiate integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine pain treatment. It has a history of more than 20 years. Since the independent establishment of the Department of Pain Medicine at the end of 2022, it has extensively carried out the diagnosis, treatment, and research of various acute and chronic pain conditions. The pain innovation team, represented by the department’s academic leader, conducts comprehensive analysis and judgment of pain by combining modern pain medicine theory and knowledge with traditional Chinese medicine pattern differentiation, followed by treatment. It uses a combination of minimally invasive interventional therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, acupotomy, and traditional Chinese medicine to treat various acute and chronic pain conditions, vertebrogenic pain, neuropathic pain, joint pain, rheumatic pain, cancer pain, and other diseases.
