Nuclear Medicine
Guang'anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences
Our hospital established the Department of Nuclear Medicine in 2005. Nuclear medicine is a discipline that uses unsealed radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Radionuclide imaging is a unique type of function-dependent imaging that differs from imaging based solely on morphological structures. It can detect biochemical and metabolic changes occurring within cells at an early stage of disease, which is conducive to the early detection and diagnosis of diseases. It complements, but cannot replace, other medical imaging modalities such as X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI. Our department currently has an E.camdute dual-detector coincidence SPECT imaging system. In addition to conventional SPECT imaging, it can also perform some functions of PET imaging.
