Puwan Campus Gynecology Department

The Department of Gynecology of the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University is a disease diagnosis and treatment center specializing in gynecologic oncology and various common gynecological diseases. It is an authorized site for awarding master’s degrees in obstetrics and gynecology, a provincial specialist physician training base in Liaoning Province, and a provincial key specialty. The department collaborates with the Departments of Medical Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, Interventional Medicine, and Anesthesiology to implement a multidisciplinary team (MDT) model. For patients with complex tumors, it provides precisely coordinated, integrated services through meticulous surgery combined with systemic chemotherapy, intraperitoneal perfusion chemotherapy, and other treatments. The Department of Gynecology currently has 2 chief physicians, 4 associate chief physicians, and 8 attending physicians; 7 staff members hold doctoral degrees and 13 hold master’s degrees, including 2 master’s supervisors.

The Department of Gynecology at the Puwan Campus has consistently upheld the principles of the gynecology department of the main hospital: “Courage, Resilience, Action, and Responsibility.” Based on the specific condition and needs of each patient, it provides standardized, individualized, and precise treatment. The department has advanced minimally invasive hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical techniques, as well as transabdominal surgical techniques. In particular, minimally invasive uterine radiofrequency ablation can resolve disease-related problems for women while preserving the uterus. The department has long been a leader in da Vinci robotic surgery technology in Liaoning. This technology offers advantages unmatched by conventional techniques when performing high-risk, meticulous procedures in narrow operative fields or around major blood vessels and vital organs.

The Department of Gynecology at the Puwan Campus performs the same types of surgical procedures as the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University. Its diagnostic and treatment scope includes surgical treatment of various benign and malignant gynecological tumors (uterine fibroids and uterine sarcomas, benign and malignant tumors of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer, atypical endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer, etc.); the diagnosis and treatment of infertility; treatment of pelvic organ prolapse; common diseases seen in gynecological outpatient clinics; and diseases related to family planning. The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and is proficient in reproductive surgery. It performs advanced DSA-guided selective salpingography and recanalization, salpingostomy, salpingoplasty, and other procedures to address various tubal causes of infertility.
