Hematology Department 4
Department of Hematology IV primarily provides diagnosis and treatment for bone marrow failure disorders, such as aplastic anemia and myelodysplastic syndromes; myeloproliferative neoplasms, such as primary myelofibrosis; leukemia in older adults; and bleeding and coagulation disorders, such as thrombocytopenia.
Guided by the principles of precision medicine and standardized treatment, the department performs diagnostic assessments based on cellular morphology, bone marrow pathology, cytogenetics, immunology, and molecular biology, ensuring stratified, individualized treatment for patients. It aims to reduce adverse reactions and safeguard patients’ quality of life, continuously optimizes conventional treatment methods, and expands the indications for immune-targeted drugs in the treatment of hematologic diseases. By continually improving testing methods for bleeding and coagulation disorders, it enables precise treatment and medication use for bleeding and thrombotic diseases.
The department’s physicians include those with further training experience at the Mayo Clinic in the United States, the Cancer Research Institute of the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, and the Suzhou Institute of Hematology. Over the past three years, the department has received funding for multiple provincial- and municipal-level scientific research projects, and numerous research papers have been published in leading domestic and international core journals, including the Chinese Journal of Experimental Hematology and Experimental Hematology. The department undertakes teaching in diagnostics and internal medicine across multiple specialties for international students, graduate students, and undergraduates at Dalian Medical University, as well as teaching for residents undergoing standardized training. It has completed multiple university-level education-reform projects. Selected key medical personnel have participated in skills training for clinical medical students and received the honors of the Special Prize and the championship in the National Clinical Skills Competition for Medical Students.
