Cardiac Rehabilitation Center
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University was established in February 2017. It has consultation rooms in the Department of Cardiovascular Function occupying an area of approximately 120 m2, including a 90 m2 exercise therapy room, a 15 m2 exercise assessment room, and a 15 m2 preparatory activity room that also serves as a rest room. It is affiliated with the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. The treatment team currently includes cardiologists, cardiac rehabilitation physicians, nurses, and other professional and technical personnel.
It currently has a complete set of medical equipment for cardiac rehabilitation assessment, training and treatment, monitoring, and emergency care, including: a treadmill exercise ECG, a cardiopulmonary exercise stress monitoring system, a power bicycle testing device, and an external counterpulsation therapy device; meanwhile, a telemetry exercise ECG monitoring system ensures real-time ECG and blood pressure monitoring during exercise rehabilitation. By accurately measuring patients’ real-time cardiopulmonary function during exercise, it assesses exercise risk and performs exercise risk stratification, formulates individualized exercise prescriptions, and conducts rehabilitative exercise training under ECG monitoring, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of exercise. To date, cardiopulmonary exercise testing has been performed for nearly 10,000 people.
In 2018, it obtained certification as a cardiac rehabilitation center from the Cardiopulmonary Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, becoming the first in the southern Liaoning region to pass certification; on October 20, 2019, following review by the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the China Heart Alliance, approval was granted to establish the Stent Life Club; on July 23, 2020, it was certified by the National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine as a National Construction-Standardized Cardiac Rehabilitation Center; in November 2020, it received approval from the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the China Heart Alliance and the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine to establish a Comprehensive Management Center for Atrial Fibrillation, becoming the first atrial fibrillation club in the southern Liaoning region; in July 2021, it received approval from the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the China Heart Alliance and the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine to become the first nationally qualified cardiac rehabilitation training base in the southern Liaoning region.
