Diamond Bay Campus – Radiology Department
The Department of Radiology of the Diamond Bay Campus of the Second Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University was merged into the Second Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University from the Hospital of Oil Plant No. 7 in 2003. In 1991, the department installed the first magnetic resonance imaging system in southern Liaoning (a 0.15T MRI system from ASP, a Sino-American joint venture). It now has a German Siemens 1.5T MRI system, Neusoft’s first wide-body 256-slice CT system in the world, a Japanese Toshiba 16-slice spiral CT system, a Dutch Philips DSA system, and other equipment. In addition to routine non-contrast and contrast-enhanced examinations, the department also performs several new technologies, such as whole-body CTA and CTV, head and neck MRA and MRV, and high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging.
The Department of Radiology can perform CT-guided needle biopsy and ablation treatment, including ablation of pulmonary nodules and liver metastases. It also performs CT-guided interventional treatments such as nerve root blocks, cyst sclerotherapy, and abscess drainage. The department has led or participated in more than 10 projects funded by national, provincial, and municipal natural science foundations, as well as horizontal research projects. It has published more than 40 academic papers, including more than 10 SCI-indexed papers. Its staff have served as editors-in-chief, deputy editors-in-chief, and contributing authors of several books.
The department adheres to the philosophy of “Precise Diagnosis, Warmhearted Service” and safeguards patients’ health.
