Coronary Heart Disease Department III

Department III of Coronary Heart Disease (formerly CCU) is a department of the Cardiovascular Disease Hospital, established in 2002, with 34 authorized beds. It currently has 6 doctors, including 4 professors and associate professors, 3 doctors with medical doctoral degrees, 2 attending physicians, and 19 professional nursing staff. It is equipped with central air conditioning and uses a central oxygen supply system; all rooms are equipped with electrocardiographic monitoring systems, and the nurses’ station has a central monitoring console that can continuously monitor the various vital signs of critically ill patients 24 hours a day (such as: heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation). It mainly admits patients with myocardial infarction due to coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, and patients undergoing interventional treatment for coronary heart disease. Each year, it admits nearly 1,600 patients with acute and severe coronary heart disease, including nearly 800 coronary heart disease interventional treatment cases and nearly 200 emergency interventional treatments for acute myocardial infarction. It undertakes the rescue of most patients with acute and severe cardiac conditions in the urban area of Dalian and the three northern cities; at present, its early emergency intervention and stent implantation for acute myocardial infarction, as well as thrombolytic therapy, are all at a leading level in China. It has successively completed multiple international and domestic clinical studies, participated in multiple national key research projects under the “Eighth Five-Year Plan” and “Ninth Five-Year Plan” and multiple projects of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Department of Education, and received awards including the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements of Beijing Municipality, the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Liaoning Provincial Education Commission, the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Provincial Government, and the Second Prize for Medical and Pharmaceutical Scientific and Technological Progress of Liaoning Province; it has published more than 60 papers in China and abroad and participated in writing 6 books.
