Neurology Intensive Care Department

As a leading department in Liaoning Province, Dalian City, and our hospital, the Department of Neurocritical Care was established in 2004 and was, at that time, the largest neurological intensive care unit in the three northeastern provinces and even in the country. It made important contributions to the emergency rescue and treatment of patients with neurocritical illnesses in Dalian and also provided valuable experience for the subsequent development of neurological intensive care units in the three northeastern provinces and Dalian City. The department receives key support from the hospital in terms of personnel, equipment, beds, and incentive policies. It currently has 29 beds and 40 medical and nursing staff. It mainly admits patients with various severe cerebrovascular diseases, intracranial infectious diseases, status epilepticus, myasthenic crisis, and various types of coma. It has reached an advanced national level in the fields of nutritional support for severe cerebrovascular diseases, prevention and treatment of stroke-associated pneumonia, early thrombolytic therapy for ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, and minimally invasive treatment of hemorrhagic cerebrovascular diseases.
