Jinpu Campus Anesthesiology Department
The Department of Anesthesiology of the Jinpu Campus of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University is a first-level clinical department integrating clinical anesthesia, emergency rescue and resuscitation, teaching, and scientific research. It is a comprehensive department with multidisciplinary theories and technologies, equipped with advanced anesthesia equipment. It currently has 9 advanced operating rooms and 1 post-anesthesia care unit, with 1 chief physician, 2 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 3 resident physicians, and 1 anesthesia nurse. All staff uphold the department’s cultural philosophy: “We are all brothers and sisters, helping one another, working happily, and living harmoniously; we get along amicably with related departments, and helping others is helping ourselves; patients’ encounter with us is a form of fate, and relieving their worries is our duty and responsibility.” They have the courage to innovate and strive for advancement, with an ever-expanding scope of practice and continuously improving professional standards. They have accumulated extensive clinical experience in anesthesia for operations including pheochromocytoma surgery, laparoscopic radical resection of lung cancer, radical resection of esophageal cancer, intracranial aneurysm surgery, modified uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, and laparoscopic repair of giant incisional hernias of the abdominal wall. In particular, they have conducted in-depth and meticulous research into the pathology and physiology of critically ill and elderly patients, as well as postoperative analgesia and postoperative cognitive function, bringing about a transformation in anesthesia concepts toward visualization of endotracheal intubation, invasive anesthesia monitoring, and enhanced patient comfort during and after surgery. By making full use of the post-anesthesia care unit, they have improved surgical turnover efficiency and truly “provided escort and protection” for surgeons during various operations, achieving the work objective that “surgery treats disease, while anesthesia saves lives,” and have obtained gratifying results: one hospital new-technology project was approved in each of 2011 and 2014, and one science and technology plan project was approved by the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology in 2012; they participated in one 2013 General Program project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. They have published nearly 50 scientific papers in national core journals, including the Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology, the Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology, and the Chinese Journal of Modern Medicine, including 2 papers in the Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology and 5 in the Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology. In 2014, they published 2 SCI papers.
