Anesthesiology Department I
The First Department of Anesthesiology is located at the main hospital and has a comprehensive system integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research. It undertakes part of the hospital’s work in clinical anesthesia, pain treatment, emergency resuscitation, and the treatment of critically ill patients. The department performs more than 10,000 cases of surgical anesthesia annually, including anesthesia for high-risk pregnant and postpartum women referred from lower-level hospitals, difficult-airway anesthesia in otolaryngology and stomatology, and anesthesia for high-risk patients with critical and severe illnesses. The department places great emphasis on recruiting and training professionals in the specialty. At present, 60% of the department’s staff have at least a master’s degree in the specialty of anesthesiology. The department undertakes teaching and training for undergraduates, residents undergoing standardized training, and master’s students. Its main research areas include anesthesia for critically ill and elderly patients; neurosurgical anesthesia and cerebral protection; and the selection and management of anesthesia for high-risk pregnant and postpartum women.
Department Features
1、Physicians in the First Department of Anesthesiology focus on studying the specialized fields of the various branches of medicine, combining the training of specialist anesthesiologists with continuing education for general practitioners. This has enabled the department to train a group of modern anesthesiologists with a high level of comprehensive medical competence. While administering clinical anesthesia, they also diagnose and treat the primary and underlying diseases of surgical patients, thereby fully safeguarding patients’ perioperative safety.
2、The department has established an advanced, goal-oriented concept of anesthesia management. Through new technologies such as mobile target-controlled infusion and goal-directed fluid therapy, it implements refined and individualized anesthesia management, thereby expanding the scope of surgical treatment that can be performed.
