Laboratory Medicine

The Department of Laboratory Medicine of Chongqing Songshan Hospital is a comprehensive medical laboratory integrating medical care, teaching, and research, headed by Liu Li, former Director of the Department of Transfusion and Deputy Chief Technician of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the former 324th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army. The department comprises six major specialized laboratories: the Clinical Hematology and Body Fluids Laboratory, Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology Laboratory, Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, PCR Laboratory, HIV Preliminary Screening Laboratory, and Transfusion Compatibility Laboratory; one outpatient venous blood collection center; and a blood bank. The department is equipped with a comprehensive range of large fully automated laboratory equipment, including fully automated biochemical analyzers and immunoluminescence analyzers, and performs more than 400 test items. The Department of Laboratory Medicine adheres to the quality policy of “Quality First, Striving for Excellence,” has been established in strict accordance with ISO15189 medical laboratory accreditation standards, participates in interlaboratory quality assessment and laboratory proficiency testing programs conducted by authoritative national organizations, and provides accurate and reliable laboratory test reports for clinicians and patients.
