Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine

The Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Chongqing Haijia Hospital is the Medical Quality Control Center for Respiratory Medicine in the High-tech Zone, and has a technically strong, motivated, pioneering, enterprising, and caring medical and nursing team. The discipline leader, Lin Kexiong, is a PhD holder from the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of the former Xinqiao Hospital of Army Medical University, a chief physician, a master's supervisor, a nationally renowned respiratory disease expert, and a renowned physician in the High-tech Zone, and has successively held such academic positions as a member of the Interventional Pulmonology Group of the Respiratory Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and a member of the Youth Committee of the Internal Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. The discipline has a well-structured talent echelon and currently has 18 staff members, including 1 chief physician, 1 associate chief physician, 3 attending physicians, and 1 physician; 2 supervising nurses, 5 nurses, 4 junior nurses, and 1 technician. The unit has 52 beds, and includes an inpatient ward, an outpatient department, a bronchoscopy room, and a pulmonary function room, and is equipped with domestically advanced equipment including an OLYMPUS bronchoscopy system, an ND-YAG laser therapy device, an ERBO cryotherapy device, an ERBO electrosurgical workstation, invasive and noninvasive ventilators, a high-flow humidified oxygen therapy device, a pulmonary function analyzer, and other equipment. The department has carried out pulmonary function testing, electronic bronchoscopy examination, bronchoscopic interventional treatment (cryotherapy, high-frequency electrosurgical knife, argon knife, balloon dilation, intratumoral injection, stent placement and bedside bronchoscopy techniques, etc.), percutaneous lung puncture biopsy, vascular interventional treatment for massive hemoptysis and lung cancer, mechanical ventilation and monitoring, and multiple other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The department has successively been awarded honors including “Advanced Department,” “Advanced Collective for Nursing Services,” and “Advanced Department for Rational Drug Use,” among other titles.
