Department Name: Blood Transfusion Department
Department Development History: Since the establishment of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, the Blood Transfusion Department has adhered to the quality policy of “safe, accurate, timely, and effective,” continuously strengthening the scientific, institutional, standardized, informatized, and humanized development of blood transfusion services, and has gradually developed into a medical technology department integrating testing, blood supply, teaching, and scientific research. In 1984, the Department of Laboratory Medicine established a blood bank, which was officially renamed the Blood Transfusion Department in 2001. In 2011, it was relocated to the Surgical Building, with an expanded area of more than 300 square meters. It undertakes various medical tasks, including the storage, testing, and issuing of blood products, clinical blood transfusion consultation and consultation services, and monitoring of adverse transfusion reactions. In 2014, it was approved by the Beijing Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission to become the Beijing Blood Transfusion Technical Personnel Training Base, receiving job training for technical personnel from blood transfusion departments in Beijing. In December 2019, the Blood Transfusion Department successfully passed the international medical laboratory accreditation to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189 international standard for medical laboratories organized by the National Accreditation Committee. In September 2020, the Blood Transfusion Department established an organ transplantation matching laboratory and began conducting organ transplantation matching tests, providing a reliable basis for pre-transplant HLA matching, antibody testing, and cytological matching for patients and clinical practice, as well as continuous post-transplant antibody monitoring and prediction of rejection reactions.
