Infectious Diseases

The Department of Infectious Diseases at Boao Super Hospital was established on March 31, 2018, by an infectious disease team led by Academician Li Lanjuan. The hospital describes it as the only specialty department in the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone currently admitting patients with infectious diseases. It mainly diagnoses and treats infectious diseases, particularly viral hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis, autoimmune and inherited metabolic liver diseases, cirrhosis, liver failure and AIDS. The discipline has advanced domestic and international equipment and techniques for liver disease and offers specialist outpatient services with systematic, standardized care. Its measures for end-stage liver disease include artificial liver support and care for severe liver disease. When patients need it, a remote consultation with Academician Li Lanjuan can be requested; an appointment clinic with her is also available. The department currently has two physicians: one academician and one associate chief physician. Telephone consultation is offered and remote online consultation can be arranged when needed.
