Spinal Surgery
Orthopedics is a comprehensive clinical department integrating joint, spine, trauma, and hand and foot surgery. It has long maintained close collaboration with the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, relying on the concept of minimally invasive, digitalized, and individualized orthopedic treatment advocated by the department director, Professor Yang Tongqi, and is committed to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of complex joint and spinal diseases and related basic research; its professional and technical level is at the forefront among hospitals of the same level.
The department has 65 approved beds and comprises five level-three subspecialties: Joint Surgery, Spine Surgery, Trauma Orthopedics, Sports Injuries, and Hand and Foot Surgery. The department has introduced the ERAS rapid-recovery concept, reducing surgical complications, shortening patients’ treatment time, accelerating patient recovery, greatly increasing cure and satisfaction rates, and simultaneously reducing treatment costs.
