How Parents Can Make a Preliminary Assessment of Whether Their Child Has Allergies
● If the child had eczema on the skin when young and frequently develops itchy bumps on the body, the child may have an allergic constitution.
● Frequently rubbing the eyes, picking the nose, having a runny nose, and sneezing; repeated sneezing is an even more obvious symptom.
● The child has dark circles around the eyes.
● The child has red eyebrows when crying.
● Excessive sweating, hyperactivity, night terrors, and susceptibility to colds.
● The child coughs after running or laughing loudly.
● After going to sleep at night, the child tends to sweat during the first half hour to two hours.
● When walking or going upstairs, the child does not want to continue walking and easily becomes short of breath.
● Family medical history. If the father, mother, or siblings have a history of allergies, the child’s likelihood of developing allergies is much higher.
