Xi'an Jiaotong University describes it as a network hospital of the national international emergency rescue centre and a Shaanxi foreign-related medical unit. Founded in 1937, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University describes itself as the largest Grade 3A general hospital in southwestern Fujian, with several branches. In 2015 it became the first hospital in Fujian to pass JCI academic medical center accreditation; current accreditation status is not stated on its site. No international desk contact is published.

Founded in 1910, FAH-SYSU is a large university hospital with Yuexiu (main), Huangpu and Nansha campuses and 36 national clinical key specialties. Its English International Medicine page lists registration, result-inquiry and check-up lines at the main campus. The First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, founded in 1939, is a large public general hospital in Kunming affiliated with Kunming University of Science and Technology. Its International Medical Department matches international patients with specialists, arranges multidisciplinary consultations, provides bilingual staff throughout the visit, and issues Chinese–English medical summaries and bills. An East Campus is being opened in phases with an international health-management centre planned.

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University grew from Chongqing's Kuanren Hospital, founded in 1892, and is a tertiary Class A hospital with Yuzhong (Jiefangbei) and Jiangnan campuses. Its website has an International Medical section, and it is on Chongqing's first official list of hospitals approved for foreign-related medical services. The municipal health commission published 24-hour Chinese–English consultation numbers for both campuses.

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (Northwest Hospital) is a tertiary Class A general hospital on Xiwu Road in central Xi'an, with a second campus at Daminggong. The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital in Futian is run with Hong Kong management practices and sits near the Futian border crossing. Tongji Hospital is a large public university hospital in Wuhan, designated by Hubei and Wuhan authorities for foreign patients. Its International Medical Services, set up in 2012 at the Hankou campus with a second unit at the Optical Valley campus since 2022, offer outpatient, inpatient, surgery, rehabilitation and health-management services with one-to-one specialist appointments and full translation. It reports cooperation with overseas medical, assistance and insurance organisations, including direct billing.

Union Hospital, founded in 1866, is a large public teaching hospital in Hankou, Wuhan. Its International Outpatient Department, opened in 2015 on the 9th floor of the outpatient building, offers about 40 specialties by appointment, with English-speaking nurses, accompanied visits and on-site tests such as ultrasound, ECG and blood draws.

West China Hospital is a large public university hospital in Chengdu founded in 1892. Its Special Medical Care Center (formerly the Gold Card International Medical Center) runs special-needs outpatient clinics, 107 single-room VIP beds and an international medical unit. The international unit lists foreign-language reception, international referral and teleconsultation, and direct billing arrangements with over 20 insurers and assistance companies.

West China Lecheng Hospital, Sichuan University (also called Hainan Haikong Lecheng Hospital) is a non-profit general hospital in the Boao Lecheng pilot zone, invested by Hainan Development Holdings and fully managed by West China Hospital of Sichuan University; it opened in November 2024 with 200 phase-one beds. Its centers cover biomedicine/cell therapy, stomatology (experts from West China Hospital of Stomatology), health management, day treatment and oncology innovation. Xiangya Hospital of Central South University is a large public hospital in Changsha. In 2015 it opened the Xiangya International Medical Center (XIMC), developed with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and described by the Hunan health commission as the first international medical department of a large public hospital in Hunan. The Hunan government page says XIMC follows JCI-standard procedures; this is not the same as JCI accreditation.

Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is a general hospital established in 1958 and known for pediatrics in Yangpu district, Shanghai. Xuanwu Hospital is a public Class A tertiary general hospital focused on neuroscience and geriatrics, hosting the National Center for Neurological Disorders.
