Founded in 1937, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University describes itself as the largest Grade 3A general hospital in southwestern Fujian, with several branches. In 2015 it became the first hospital in Fujian to pass JCI academic medical center accreditation; current accreditation status is not stated on its site. No international desk contact is published.

Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (Xiamen Heart Center) in Huli is a dedicated tertiary cardiovascular hospital with an English website. It is active internationally, including transcatheter valve work with partners abroad and training of foreign doctors. A special comprehensive (VIP) department integrates internal medicine, surgery and diagnostics; no international desk is published.

Xiamen Chang Gung Hospital in Haicang was established in 2008 by Formosa Plastics founder Wang Yung-ching and is a Taiwan-invested Grade 3A general hospital, sister to Taiwan's Chang Gung hospitals. It runs a Taiwan Compatriot Service Center that helps Taiwanese patients with appointments and Taiwan NHI reimbursement paperwork. Several specialists are visiting Taiwanese physicians.

Xiamen Eye Center of Xiamen University is a Grade 3A eye hospital with a national clinical key specialty, a national drug clinical trial institution and a national cataract surgery training base. It has two campuses: Sibei (Xiahe Road) and Wuyuan (Huli). No international desk is published; bookings go through the enquiry hotline.

Zhongshan Hospital Xiamen University, founded in 1928, is a Grade 3A general hospital in Siming with four national key clinical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics and Gastroenterology. Its International Medical Center opened in June 2025 with a 24-hour reception hotline, outpatient rooms, a check-up center and dedicated wards. The hospital's commercial-insurance service center connects directly with many insurers.
