Cardiac Rehabilitation
Zhejiang Hospital is one of the earliest medical institutions in China to specialize in clinical cardiac rehabilitation. The Department of Cardiac Rehabilitation of Zhejiang Hospital was established in 1999. It is a key discipline developed by the hospital and the first in the province to establish a modern comprehensive (multidisciplinary) department centered on cardiovascular disease rehabilitation and integrating cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation, teaching, and scientific research. It currently has a medical team of 36 members.
The team routinely provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with various cardiovascular diseases, carries out whole-process prevention-treatment-rehabilitation management, and formulates individualized, phased diagnosis-treatment and rehabilitation plans, with the goals of controlling the disease, improving cardiopulmonary function, enhancing quality of life, reducing cardiovascular events, lowering the risk of readmission, and ultimately reducing morbidity and mortality.
The diagnostic and treatment ward of our hospital’s Hypertension Center is located in our department. We routinely carry out standardized diagnosis and treatment, scientific research, and prevention of hypertension, with a focus on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of resistant hypertension, secondary hypertension, and important target-organ damage involving the heart, brain, and kidneys caused by hypertension. We have established a comprehensive standardized hypertension diagnosis and treatment system, and exercise rehabilitation for patients with hypertension is one of our distinctive features.
