Neurointerventional Department
The Department of Neurointervention of the Brain Center of Zhejiang Hospital was the first in Zhejiang Province to fully integrate the interventional resources of neurology and neurosurgery and combine their complementary strengths, establish an integrated diagnosis-and-treatment pathway for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, and significantly improve the efficiency of stroke diagnosis and treatment. Since its establishment, the department has comprehensively carried out interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for all types of cerebrovascular disease, including angiography of all cerebral and spinal vessels, subclavian artery stent implantation, carotid artery stent implantation, vertebral artery stent implantation, arterial thrombectomy for acute cerebral thrombosis, embolization of intracranial aneurysms, intracranial vascular stent implantation, and embolization of cerebrovascular malformations. It has gradually developed three distinctive areas of expertise: standardized diagnosis and treatment of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage, integrated comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic stroke, and individualized treatment of complex cerebrovascular disease. It has grown into a leading neurointerventional diagnosis-and-treatment specialty in Zhejiang Province, integrating medical care, teaching, and research.
