Glaucoma Department (Unit 2)
Tianjin Eye Hospital has first-rate glaucoma diagnosis and treatment equipment in China and provides early diagnosis and treatment for various types of glaucoma. In the treatment of difficult and complicated diseases, our department has extensive surgical experience in such difficult and complicated conditions as glaucoma secondary to lens subluxation, malignant glaucoma, neovascular glaucoma, glaucoma in infants and young children, uncontrolled intraocular pressure after anti-glaucoma surgery, and filtering bleb leakage. Department Projects Our department has highly qualified professional personnel, and its clinical technical level is at the forefront. Our department is at the domestic leading level in medical care, teaching, scientific research, and other areas. Department Members Glaucoma Department (Section 2) has 1 member of the Glaucoma Group of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, 1 member of the Glaucoma Professional Committee of the Ophthalmologists Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, 1 leader and 1 deputy leader of the Glaucoma Group of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Tianjin Medical Association, and 1 young member of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Tianjin Medical Association, and holds a certain academic standing in the glaucoma field in China. The department has 3 physicians with senior professional titles and 2 physicians with intermediate professional titles, including 3 doctors. Department Projects Glaucoma Department (Section 2) routinely performs various anti-glaucoma surgeries, such as trabeculectomy, trabeculotomy, drainage valve implantation, cataract phacoemulsification, and various combined glaucoma-cataract surgeries, among others, and was the first in Tianjin to perform new minimally invasive anti-glaucoma surgeries, such as 360° canaloplasty, 360 trabeculotomy, ab interno trabeculectomy with a KDB knife, ultrasonic cycloplasty, endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation, CO2 laser-assisted deep sclerectomy (CLASS surgery), and Express drainage nail implantation, and performs various glaucoma laser treatments. Scientific Research Innovation Glaucoma Department (Section 2) undertakes multiple projects, including projects of the Tianjin Municipal Health Commission, key tackling projects in the Tianjin health industry, and Tianjin Eye Hospital Science and Technology Fund projects. Each year, it undertakes multiple provincial- and municipal-level continuing education projects and clinical multicenter research projects. It provides technical support to surrounding hospitals, improving the level of glaucoma diagnosis and treatment throughout Tianjin.
