Department Advantages: 1. Minimally Invasive Surgery for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Tumors The Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital closely follows the forefront of minimally invasive surgical technology development and focuses on continuously advancing surgical techniques for hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors. At present, the department routinely performs advanced minimally invasive procedures, including 3D laparoscopy, 4K high-definition laparoscopy, and fluorescence microscopy. It has completed high-difficulty hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgical procedures such as laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD), robot-assisted pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD), and laparoscopic anatomical liver resection (LALR), with an annual surgical volume of more than 400 procedures, covering various laparoscopic radical tumor resections. These technologies and devices not only greatly improve surgical clarity and precision, thereby increasing the radical resection rate, but also significantly reduce surgical trauma and shorten patients’ postoperative recovery time. 2. Minimally Invasive Treatment Center for Cholelithiasis The department is committed to providing individualized comprehensive treatment for gallbladder and bile duct stones, offering patients efficient and safe treatment plans. At present, the annual surgical volume has reached 1,600 procedures. Single-incision laparoscopic surgery and natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) have also been introduced into clinical practice, providing patients with more minimally invasive treatment options. The department is equipped with an independent endoscopy unit and has introduced high-tech equipment, including electronic duodenoscopes, mother-baby endoscopes, electronic choledochoscopes, and low-temperature electrosurgical knives. More than 200 ERCP procedures are performed annually. The treatment of patients with complex biliary stones complicated by cholangitis and biliary stricture using biliary stents and biliary drainage is at the national leading level. 3. Conversion Therapy for Advanced Tumors Conversion therapy plays a crucial role in the treatment of advanced tumors. The department adopts a multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion model, bringing together top experts in oncology, surgery, radiology, and pathology to formulate individualized treatment plans for each patient. Through MDT discussions, we ensure that every case receives a comprehensive assessment and optimal treatment recommendations from different professional perspectives. Through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments, unresectable tumors can be converted into tumors amenable to R0 resection, prolonging progression-free survival and overall survival and improving quality of life. At present, our department’s tumor conversion therapy has reached internationally advanced standards. Through scientifically rigorous treatment methods and close teamwork, it brings every patient hope and the possibility of recovery. 4. Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Professional Group Under the guidance of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) concept, the department comprehensively applies anesthesia management, minimally invasive techniques, nutritional support, pain control, and other measures to ensure that patients are fully prepared before surgery, surgical trauma is minimized during surgery, and recovery is rapid after surgery. The department has a professional team composed of experienced surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and rehabilitation therapists. It fully leverages the advantages of multidisciplinary collaboration to provide patients with a faster and safer postoperative recovery experience. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and individualized treatment plans, it significantly shortens hospital stays, reduces postoperative complications, and improves patients’ quality of life. VI. Technical Equipment: 1. 3D Fluorescence Laparoscope The 3D fluorescence laparoscope combines 3D imaging technology with fluorescence imaging technology, enabling surgeons to obtain clearer and more three-dimensional visual effects during surgery. 3D imaging captures images through dual lenses, providing physicians with a true stereoscopic view and helping improve surgical precision and safety. Fluorescence imaging uses specific wavelengths and fluorescent dyes to label lesions or important structures, allowing them to be precisely visualized intraoperatively. This technology greatly improves the success rate of surgery and patients’ postoperative recovery in high-difficulty procedures such as complex cancer resection, lymph node dissection, and vascular anatomy. 2. da Vinci Robot-Assisted Surgery da Vinci robot-assisted hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery is a high-tech minimally invasive surgical approach. The high-resolution 3D stereoscopic vision and multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms equipped in the da Vinci system enable surgeons to precisely remove lesions and suture tissues while reducing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. This technology is particularly suitable for complex resection of hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors. It helps shorten operative time, reduce intraoperative blood loss, lower the incidence of postoperative complications, and improve patients’ recovery speed and surgical outcomes. 3. Choledochoscopy and Digestive Endoscopy The combined use of ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) and choledochoscopy in the treatment of cholelithiasis offers significant advantages, particularly in the management of complex cases of cholelithiasis. ERCP can provide treatment while performing diagnosis. By inserting the endoscope retrogradely into the bile duct, physicians can directly observe the biliary system and use various instruments to remove stones. Choledochoscopy provides a more direct field of view and greater operating precision, while also enabling further intraoperative examination of the condition inside the bile duct. The combination of the two can provide patients with individualized comprehensive treatment for biliary stones, reduce operative time and postoperative complications, and improve the treatment success rate. VII. Introduction to the Nursing Team The nursing team is an outstanding team with extensive experience and a high level of professional competence. It consists of 27 nursing personnel, including 2 deputy chief nurses, 13 supervising nurses, 8 nurses, and 4 on-the-job accompanying nurses. All team members possess solid professional knowledge and extensive clinical experience, providing patients with comprehensive, high-quality nursing services. The deputy chief nurses lead the team and guide clinical nursing work, while the supervising nurses play a central role in daily nursing care, ensuring that every patient receives meticulous care and attention. Our team is committed to providing the highest-quality patient-centered nursing services and helping patients recover as soon as possible. VIII.
