After two rounds of development, it received an excellent assessment at the 2019 acceptance evaluation. In 2020, the department became a key discipline under development in medicine in Hangzhou. In 2021, for the long-term development of anesthesiology, the hospital leadership merged the original Department of Anesthesiology with the operating room nursing unit, making the hospital the first in Hangzhou to establish a municipal-level “Anesthesia and Surgery Center.” The department has strong clinical anesthesia capabilities and a well-structured talent team. It has 12 modern laminar-flow purified operating rooms, advanced facilities and equipment, and comprehensive monitoring instruments. It is equipped with various high-end multifunctional anesthesia machines, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) systems, cardiac output monitors, depth-of-anesthesia monitors, cerebral oxygen saturation monitors, fiberoptic bronchoscopes, video laryngoscopes, color Doppler ultrasound systems, autologous blood recovery machines, blood gas analyzers, coagulation function (thromboelastography) analyzers, and other advanced equipment. The department provides comfort-focused medical services, including preoperative assessment and optimization for anesthesia and surgery, perioperative anesthetic monitoring and treatment, monitoring and treatment during anesthetic recovery, postoperative pain diagnosis and treatment, and labor analgesia. The department undertakes multiple provincial- and municipal-level scientific research projects and encourages the parallel development of research and clinical practice. Drawing on the strengths and specialty characteristics of our hospital, it focuses its clinical anesthesia research on the perioperative protection of vital organs in patients with tuberculosis and geriatric patients, establishing a series of studies. More than 50 papers have been published in SCI-indexed journals and core medical journals. The department has received one Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Medicine and Pharmaceuticals of Zhejiang Province, two Third Prizes for Science and Technology in Traditional Chinese Medicine of Zhejiang Province, and two Second Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress in Health of Hangzhou.
